Children: A Blessing or a Curse.

They say children are the pride of every parent which is true but there is an interesting twist in the statement: the birth of children have led to the death of marriages. Most mothers become obsessed with taking care of the children ignoring their husbands while the ignored husbands spend most of their free time hanging out.

Michael and Nora had a beautiful relationship which left most of their friends envious. Whenever they had a dispute, they settled it in a manner that left people dazed.

4 years later when they had 2 kids; the relationship started wearing thin.

Michael comes home to find his wife covered with sweat and an awful smell of saliva or vomit with a wrapper tied around her chest, and her well manicured nails were now chirped. The jolt in his belly he used to feel whenever he saw his wife was now long gone. At night, she comes to bed wearing a pj that can fit them both; no more perfumed bath, sexy lingerie and most of all no more sex because she was either tired or not in the mood. Every discussion was about the kids; no more quality time.

Nora, on the other hand, was too tired to notice. She spent most of her time taking care of the kids not knowing how Michael felt until he started keeping late nights. He stopped telling her stories about work; he started coming home with lipstick stains and the smell of a female perfume that was not hers on his shirt.

The quarrelling started leading to beatings then separation and divorce.

Spending quality time with your spouse is very important in a marriage; always keep the romance alive.

How?

1) Go out once a week alone.

2) Buy each other gifts.

3) Send the children to your parent’s house; make them understand that you both need some time alone then spend the night at home or in a hotel.

4) Do chores together.

5) Sexy lingerie works wonders; rekindle your sex life.

6) Watch romantic movies together.

There are other things that can be done but do them together.

Life is too short, enjoy every moment of it with the one you love.

If Michael and Nora had done all these maybe this story would never have been told.
