My thoughts on facebook
Recently, Micheal Zuckenberg the CEO of facebook recently announced that the subscriber pool on facebook had exceeded 500 million which makes the facebook community the third populose nation in the world after India and China, and interesting with a population growth index greater than those two countries combined.
My people have asked and wondered at the Phenomenon called Facebook which has thus far defied all bounds and charted on records since the internet became a paste time in our everyday life. To this question we might not have an answer; because it falls at the root of human psychology which to a large extent still is really a confusing feild.
However in this post, I will offer my opinion about the facebook concept. Facebook is really not a new concept- I meant the entities composing the facebook idea; but the approach and the association/connection between the various ideas composing the facebook ecosystem is really the work of a genius. One wont be surprised, because Micheal Zuckenberg is an Harvard grad and with a major in social psychology and with a quest for designing social interaction softwares.
The point of the facebook idea is that it was a well targeted and to explore fully at the root of our communal disadvantage which is: to socialize(add or delete friends) and to stay in touch regardless of the location. That is why it is relevant, that is why it has defied many bounds and that is why as long as humans still exist on this planet will still be relevant.
Like any good idea, there are always predators. Facebook too has not been spared from the effects of sharks. However, through learning from mistakes from past entrepreneur: facebook is managing to stay ahead of crocodiles in the industry.
However, as it is clear from previous happenings in this industry; the industry is extremely dynamic. And the waters are quite treacherous, big corporations like Google and Apple among others are jealous of the edge currently enjoyed by facebook today. And brilliant ideas spring forth on a daily bases- whether facebook will still manage to stay relevant tomorrow will be dependent on the foresight on the part of the managers of the enterprise and how well they explore whatever means people will stay in touch tomorrow. Thus and by, it is not havana yet for facebook!
