Technology and the Nigerian situation

It is often said that the average nigerian is brilliant as they come,as a result of this you would expect that Nigeria would embrace new technology in its entirety but we often find out that almost reverse is the case where we almost repel these technology until we are either forced to use or them or we are left with no choice.it is also pathetic that those who get to embrace them first often want to use them for perpetrating criminal acts.various examples lie in the ATM technology, internet and online business,e-voting,use of pos terminals and the likes.Until we learn that there is an ethical use for technology and every one benefits best when technology is rightly deployed, then i am afraid we would remain backwards even though we are tagged brilliant. Some given the choice would not even go near these technology at all;such is the example of those who have still refused to obtain  ATM cards in this day and age hiding under the guise of not wanting to fall prey to frauds, until their banks made it mandatory at the expense of high bills for withdrawals at the counter. They may have a good point of arguement, but in the post Y2k era,can you afford to live like one in the medieval times again?it only goes to further buttress the point that technogy rightly and ethically deployed is for the good of all and in everybody’s best interest overall.
