Of all professions that have kept the world together and on-going as it is, engineering is regarded worldwide as number one. And who else is the first and the greatest engineer other than the owner of the universe, whom it has pleased to create heaven and earth, and went further to design, manufacture and install and commission you and I.
As we revealed to us in the first book of Moses called genesis, chapter 1 Vs 1: “In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth” .further in the same chapter, Vs 31(a), I quote: “Then God saw everything that he has made, and indeed it was good ….”
And who or what then is the engineer? The word engineer is a derivative from the word engine and an engine is nothing but a human tool. By extension, the engineer is the animated tool created by divine invention, to be used for the upliftment and advancement of human existence on earth.
In the Wale Adenuga slogan of the fame super story “we are nothing but pencil in the hand of God creator”.
Thefore engineers must continuously ask themselves how well we allow ourselves to be used as tools, moreso in the slogan of Wale Adenuga of the super story fame, “we are nothing but pencil in the hand of the creator”.
Engineers must therefore continuously ask themselves how we allow ourselves to be used as tools, moreso in the society of today where greed and moral decadence have become the order of the day.
As we can all observe, we are today a largely living in the world of oddities and avarice.
Little wonder we are treated to absurdities such as the call to legalize abortion, gayism, corruption drug and stop the noise making all over the place. The proponents of all these strange calls say that if drugs are our enemies closer, it is safer to keep your friends close to you and your enemies closer. It is our prayer that all this, the engineer will strive to be different where and when other professionals are compromising standards and moral values.
Engineers must endeavor at all time to operate and live with such profession standards and ethics such that in this present day world of confusion, we counted as “engines” of reformation and progress
