Anxiety is a disease the mind that clogs happiness with care and “what is” with thoughts of “what may be”. It is the poison of human life and the parent of many sins. Where physical ailments have slain tens, anxiety has slain hundreds.
Nothing wastes the body like anxiety. It steals the bloom from the check and lightness from the pulse. It overtakes the heart and disturbs circulation; it takes away the appetite and turns the hair grey.
Anxiety gives a little problem a very big shadow, if you look at your life in retrospect, you will be surprised to find that most of the things you were anxious about in the past years, were things that never really happened. So, all the time and energy spent on worrying was wasted and could have been used for something better.
Anxiety does not empty tomorrow of its sadness, it only empties tomorrow of its joy. The fact that we are anxious about a situation does not change the outcome after all, for, whatever will be, will be, except the Lord’s intervention is sought and received.
Most of the problem you anticipate and are anxious about now will rapidly fade away, if, instead of trembling at the thought of them, you wake up your mind to walk through them with divine guidance, strength and succor.
Getting anxious can never be of help to you, but you can help getting anxious, by casting all your cares on the One who lavishly feeds the birds and splendidly clothes the lilies because you’re worth much more than these, He certainly cares for you much more.
