First Aid Catechism-Electrocution

Q: Would you know what to do if you found someone you thought had been electrocuted?

A: While you call for medical assistance, break the contact between the person and the electrical supply by switching off the current at the mains if it can be reached easily. If not, (1) Protect yourself by standing on some dry insulation material, such as a big textbook or piles of newspaper. (2) Using something made of a non-conductive material (e.g. wooden broom or dry mop stick), push the person away from the electrical source or push the electrical source away from the person.
Then there may be need for carrying out resuscitation
