Happy Father’s Day

Happy belated father’s day. I wish I really wish I wrote this earlier.
To all who have fathers (or father figures) that they shared the day with, I guess I can say you are very fortunate and to the ones that don’t have fathers (and can’t boast of father figures), don’t worry, to the dudes, one day, you’ll become fathers to your own children and to the chicks, you’ll have men that’ll make good fathers to your babies.
To the fathers, happy father’s day to all those who deserve to be called fathers and to those who don’t, it’s never too late to become a good father.
I didn’t have my father’s love as much as I would have wanted and the reason is very simple-he died. Not that he was old or anything, I was 16 and he just got cancer (which happens to be my worst enemy right now) and he died. Prior to his sickness which eventually led to his death, he was the best dad in the world and I loved him very much. If I could have one wish granted, I’ll wish to have my dad back.
Dads, I strongly believe that you will never have another today-NEVER-, so why not decide to treat your kids very well and STOP being too busy or too old to hang out with your kids once in a while. When you get old, you won’t have that opportunity to sit around with them and gist, so why not make the most of the time you’ve got now; it won’t hurt you or your kids for that matter. Even if your kids are old and you missed out on their younger years, it’s never too late to make amends. It only gets late when you are six feet under the ground, so do something about that NOW.
To the kids who never had a father’s love, even though they still have their dads around, since I don’t know much about that, I’d just say let it go. He’s made his mistakes and if he’s willing to start being a ‘father’, just accept him, regardless of your age because he just might be the best thing that’s happened to you.
To kids like me, I’d say since you can’t get your dad back, why not focus on your future and start working towards being the best dad (or mom) in the world. What happens next in your life is a million times more important than what is in your past. Let it go!
To the very fortunate kids who have both their dads and his love, I’d say wow! Enjoy your dad (and mom) while you still have them. Don’t let any moment go without telling them how much you love and appreciate them because it might be impossible when tomorrow comes.
The most important thing is this, our fathers(and mother’s too) deserve all our respect and love because without them, we wouldn’t even be here in the first place, so honor them and give them all the love you’ve got in you.
