Gone are the days when nigerians are taken for granted or mistaken for fools.how on earth would a governor who has not done anything substantial for his people have the effrontery to come out and start bragging especially at an occasion where the people had come out to welcome their most illustrious son until now – the President of the federal republic and to pass across to him the message that his own people are still suffering in the midst of plenty.
This is why i am not surprised that a set of people the governor’s men mobilised to the venue wearing souvenirs which had the governor’s face printed on them could turn back and pelt the governor with stones and wrapped papers. Next thing, the governor goes to town crying foul play, saying his enemies had incited the crowd and were responsible for all that happened.Sounds ridiculous!!
Some have come out to say that it was a show of shame, but i am sorry, i beg to disagree.it has come to a time when the average Nigerian is fed up with rhetoric and he has decided to take action, meaning we just cannot stomach this any longer. The average nigerian is smart, driven, resilient and has been bred to survive some of the most stringent conditions in the world but needless to say that even a camel would collapse and die if it continues under very harsh conditions without any sign of relief. This is a point we would rather not let matters get to in our own best interest.
Worse still, this same dumb governor who would rather not wake up and smell the coffee; is still hoping to get a second term.A reward for building castles in the air and mansions that never exist.Could someone please wake him up or how else do you explain shutting out the President of Bayelsa youths from the venue of the town hall meeting which was held with the President? In this day and age, a man still thinks he can fool a whole state, and this calls for a plea to God for forgiveness especially for ‘Commissioners of information’,or what other prayer do you offer for a man who showed up on channels television the Monday after the incident only to tell us the usual story and propaganda they brandish about when such things happen.Am i any surprised?
This is one of the earliest signals to those who think 2011 would just be another year and the forthcoming elections same of the same. They had better thought twice because they have something else coming. My advise to youths is to go out and register,Vote and be prepared to protect your votes no matter the cost; make sure it counts.
God bless Nigeria!!!
