If you engage in election malpractice you can lose your NYSC certificate and or go to jail. On one side of the coin don’t get caught, earn between 30000 and 40000 naira from INEC and as much as 1 million naira from bad politicians, if you are very good at rigging. On the other side of the coin conduct a free and fair election and hope for a better Nigeria, while still earning your stipend.
I bet it’s no news by now that the election time table is out and that youth corp member s would both be registering and conducting the elections. I personally cannot advise anyone on which part of to coin to stay on, as both has its advantages and demerits, so I leave you to stick with the side that most appeals to you.
I look at this as an opportunity for the youths, a chance to change this country and a chance to stop paying lip service, a chance to prove maradona wrong that we can rule, a chance to prove the soldier man wrong that there are no second chances to fail and a chance to take charge of our lives for at least this one time.
It may also be an opportunity to make as much money as imaginable which can be used to start up your own business or even travel abroad. But who am I to decide for you if you can do the time, then you might just attempt the crime.
