Corps members in Maiduguri, the capital city of Borno State, are currently in a state of frightful and careful living, dreading the worst that can happen as the unsettling rum our-that the next in command to the deceased founder of the religious sect ,Boko Ha ram threatens a war against the government.This religious sect has its root from Muslim religion but has most of their activities divorced from it, the recent activities of the sect includes one which is motivated by the belief system, that there is need to advocate against western education, a dream that most come through, ‘no matter whose Ox is God’.While some corps members recall the measures that ensured safety in the last fight that ensued in 2009 between the sect and military men in the state, others envisage permission from NYSC officials to travel out of the city on time to avoid being victims of any intending danger. The news heard recently on TV that the same sect stormed a prison at Bauchi town in Bauchi State, letting prisoners free and burning down the prison, further intensified the terror that presides.All corps members serving in the northern state that are liable to being central spots for the sect’s activities should at this time, tightly embrace and study the security tips that was provided by NYSC during the orientation exercise.
