Even as a kid I was quick to realize that you don’t keep males and females in the same place over a period of time and expect nothing to happen, especially if they happen to be sexually active adults. The NYSC orientation camp is laden with stories of sexual escapades that sometimes run into fiction. During my orientation in kabba kogi state I had fare share of what the stories were about but the most amazing thing was that the NYSC officials didn’t expect it. I personally felt they were living in a dream or some kind of ideal world.
The dress code is killing, with some girls coming with specially sewn bumper shorts to make the men go crazy, to add salt to the injury condoms are free at the camp clinic. Free condoms, absence of relatives and friends to caution, luscious dress codes and the equation will result in sex and nothing but sex and you can add alcohol to the equation if you so wish. There is no way people would not be attracted to each other especially in a fairly cool city like kabba.
Just before you ask, yes people had sex behind trees and on the grass in front of the pavilion and I didn’t make it up it happened and will happen again. But we were lucky in my camp we had a hotel yes I said a hotel and its cheap 500 naira for short time and it was located in the beautiful mammy market.
