STEADFAST LOVE PROCEEDS FROM A STEADY HEART

Attitude I believe is everything. Your heart is said to be steady when you have a positive mental attitude. How do you see yourself? You must be able to relate with yourself effectively if you will ever relate effectively with others. A steady heart is a combination of your self-concept (bundle of beliefs that you have about yourself and the world) which includes your self- ideal, self-image and self-esteem. If all this are fuzzy, then your heart becomes unsteady. People with low self-esteem have problems relating with people. The knowledge of who you are, what your life is about, where you’re going all contribute your mental attitude.

Symptoms of an unsteady heart

  • Lack of credible value system.
  • Low self esteem.
  • Indecision.
  • Procrastination.
  • Always affected by opinion of others

How to have a steady heart

  • Learn to do good to people.
  • Listen to your conscience.
  • Develop a formidable value system
  • Act with a sense of purpose

Real or steadfast love can only proceed from the heart of someone who has a proper perception of himself/herself. Only then will you be able to put others in proper perspective. Nobody was born with a steady heart. You’re responsible for the state of your heart right now.

STABLE RELATIONSHIPS ARE A FUNCTION OF STEADFAST LOVE

There are various kinds of love. You may even be in one of them now. Recently I got to know of a new kind of love called “facebook love”. Anyway I want to talk about steadfast love. Love is said to be steadfast when it is decision supported by commitment. Steadfast love is a choice. It’s the ability to choose to love (decision) and love your choice (commitment). To be able to love steadfastly is the ability to accept responsibility.

Our relationships can only be stable when we decide to treat people right in spite of our differences.

People won’t know how much you love them until they see how well you care about them. Real love is manifested in caring. We live in a world where people don’t care. The hustles and bustles of the twenty century life have eroded our sense of care. We live in a jet age where it’s absolutely difficult for an average human being to give attention to his fellow human being. You can show people that you care by doing the following;

  • Show genuine interest.
  • Speak gracious words to people.
  • Cease finding faults with people.
  • Learn to apologize.
  • Share with people.

A SECURE SOCIETY IS POSSIBLE WHEN OUR RELATIONSHIPS ARE STABLE

When will the masses stop blaming the government? When will Government stop condemning the masses? Our society will become peaceful when each of us accepts responsibility for our actions.
