It may be surprising to discover that the population of men participating in internet dating slightly but significantly exceeds the women population….do the personal observation yourself, if you can. From looking for friends to dates or even marriage partners, more men seem to be doing the searching using this medium. Now, I don’t know if they are out on a serious-minded mission or just out for the brief moment of expected fun, the issue is they are searching for something or someone, and it does not matter what mediums they employ. I often hear many single ladies complain that they don’t know if any eligible bachelors hang out anymore, some even say that men are scarce. No, men are not scarce, but the right one may tend to be. To find the right one will just take an extra effort on your part—prayers. After being inspired from a discussion with a friend and then going undercover to gather information for the purpose of this piece (something someone in my position shouldn’t have attempted as I’m SO not searching!), I gathered that many of the male members on the various dating sites were actually looking for long-term/serious relationships and even marriage partners. Those looking for less serious relationships were fewer. Why then does society try to hide the fact that it is not only a woman who is actually anxiously searching for a ‘someone right’, I think underneath it all, men still do crave for a Mrs. Right. It only takes time for our society to decide to admit it. I’m not trying to instigate anything out of the ordinary with this article, I am only pointing out that, just as the women may be employing other traditional comfortable means for them to find their Mr. Right, men may also be doing same. In my humble opinion, I think the ‘searching’ scale is balanced, no one party is doing it more than the other. To those men and women who have been honest and open enough to admit to themselves or to the public(online community) that they are genuinely seeking long-term or serious relationships, I say may your search never be fruitless.
Finally, for any inquisitive minds, it might relieve you to know that any accounts I held in these sites have long been removed so as not to mislead any focused members. It had only been strictly business while it lasted!
