I visualize that biologically generated software is what comprises the human mind.
Men therefore need to design digitally generated software for the robot mind.
What AI needs is a software program that gives the robot the power to learn. The ultimate iterative software (neural-nature) that makes it possible for robots to write their own additional software instructions that ‘remembers’ and ‘associates’ and ‘relates’ events, perceptions and experiences.
Every life form comes with primary iterative software upon which it builds a lifelong instruction set based upon the experiences that it comes across. This is why we are all babies at heart.
This program is the simple foundation upon which we build the complex actions, abilities and reactions that we observe in adults.
This primary program is present in every life form and identical in every species. Every life form simply ‘self-builds’ upon this primary program. It builds upon it throughout its lifetime.
It is in the behavior of children and child psychology that we will find the clues to this all-important program as well as their software scheme or organization in ‘mind space’.
I visualize this primary software working in pretty much the same way that the BIOS or an operating system works in a computer. It runs permanently in its own ‘read-only space’, capturing perceptions, interpreting them according to certain pre-defined rules, and then it writes code into another ‘space’ that governs behavior.
What I am thinking of is that every human being has primary software ‘operating system’ from which the complex abilities develop.
I feel that programmers who are writing long, complex programs to make computers do simple things like play with slinkies are tackling the problems (cognizance, AI etc.) from the wrong point of view. What is needed is a simple program that makes it possible for the robot ‘mind’ to write additional program instructions by itself (as it experiences things and stores perceptions in its memory ‘brain’). In this perspective, the ‘mind’ of the robot is the software program and the various storage devices (RAM, ROM, Hdd etc.) comprise its brain.
What I visualize is at least two programs in one making up the main program that defines the ‘mind’ of the robot. The ‘brain’ of the robot is already at advanced stages of development as found in RAMS, ROMS, and HD Drives and their controllers.
What I am looking for is the ‘learn-program’ and the ‘relation-between-spaces’ program’.
