The week two of the English premiership ended with avalanche of six goals and couples of hattrick. Arsenal FC, Newcastle FC and Chelsea FC drubbed Blackpool, Aston Villa and Wigan FC respectively, with Andy Carroll of Newcastle and Walcott of Arsenal grabbing hattrick. Manchester United had a dramatic 2-2 draw at Craven Cottage, with Nani losing a penalty kick in the 87 minutes of the match, which should have given the red devils two goals advantage lead, before Fulham got there deserved equalizer. The big spenders Manchester City showed what money could do by humiliating deflated Liverpool side 3 goals to nil. Other results are:
- Birmingham 2 -1 Blackburn
- Everton 1-1 Wolverhampton
- Stoke 1-2 Tottenham
- West Brom 1-0 Sunderland
- West Ham 1-3 Bolton
It is too early to start talking about the winner of the league, but the signs are there that the league may not be too different from last seasons. As we wait to see how events will turn in the next few weeks, the transfer window is still opened for clubs to bolster their squad to be able to make impact and finish well come May 22nd 2011.
