A WINNING FORMULA FOR LIFE

Life very often does not give you what you seem to deserve, practically you have got to fight for every thing you will eventually get. This is a thought that must become deeply ingrained in the heart of anyone who hopes to make anything outstanding out of life or leave their marks on the sands of time.

One cannot afford to live life on the sole basis of sentiment, especially as it does not answer our tears, regrets, complaint or naivete. It is almost impossible to have an ideal situation as it practically does not exist anywhere, therefore one must make the best of whatever is thrown our way. We have often heard of men who made lemonade from the initially assumed useless fruit called lemon, brought their way by the prevailing circumstances of those moments. In everything one gets to go through, we have to realize that there is always the bigger picture in every situation no matter how small and the wider our perspective in painting mental pictures, the more likely it is to come up with necessary and effective solutions to the various problems at hand even at different times. Martin Luther king jnr once said that “a man cannot die for what he is not fit to live for”. This I would like to interpret as everyman entitled to their individual right of chosen passion and how they intend to pursue its execution and eventual achievement, but if there is something they do not have a say over it is the nature and number of problems, challenges or hurdles life is allowed to bring along; thus the onus finally lies on them to fashion out ways of scaling these hurdles and tackling the various challenges.

After deep thoughts on this subject I was moved to put forward a submission which reads thus “the past is past, we live to battle the issues of today, as tomorrow slowly unfolds. This submission is likened to another made by a preacher saying that the “anticipation of a better tomorrow encourages our will to live through the challenges of today”, This effectively explains that we cannot afford to give in to despair, because in our down times hope which can only be drawn from a unending well of inner strength depicts the only solution and the practical way out. This connotes that the mere fact that we took risks that backfired or virtually blew up in our faces does not mean that we have to write off risk-taking as life in itself consists of risks and a successful surmounting of these earlier mentioned measures determine how successful our lives may become.

They often say opportunities come in cycles and the one who fails to take theirs has to wait another cycle, not leaving out the fact every of these opportunities come along with a sizable amount of risk. Thus it is often advised that one keeps a positive outlook to life as it helps to be optimistic even in the face of the trying realities of prevailing situations, which signifies a plus in the will to try again. This is because when all a person sees is gloom and doom, it does not do much to encourage their will to succeed or even try again. The object of our focus definitely does determine the picture we get, and a positive mental picture is quite necessary for the execution of our goals and aspiration as we all pursue a fulfilled life filled with passion, hunger and drive. A life without passion is a life without fire, but hunger and drive are the two key ingredients that keep the fire going and prevent it from going out.

In the tackling of life challenges, it is quite necessary to come up with a practical and workable plan of action which should include the will to act, which is further explained as taking conscious steps towards achieving goals especially when they have been well thought out; and eschewing procrastination as it is the thief of time. This habit only encourages us to push forward things which would naturally have been done immediately, often detrimental to success and a major contributor to the abortion of plans that could have changed life for the better by breeding doubts and second thoughts.

Every war that is to be won is prosecuted with a well drafted strategy and this supports the every day adage which says a plan that will surely result in failure is the failure to plan in and of itself. That means that one cannot afford to go through life without a strategy which would picture eventual success, as the challenges would come but the strategies would equally come in handy as ready made avenues of coming up with solutions and answers to the various pop up questions. Strategy involves various steps and also alternative plans, as these are the necessary indices of its being defined as either well thought out or a package destined to fail. There always must be a plan B in the eventuality that the plan A does not work out, and a plan C in the face of all odds or the earlier plans gone wrong. The man who has strategies is never caught unawares, although he cannot readily tell what form the challenge would take, but he already has templates for deriving solutions to the problems whenever they finally come along.

All in all, life would not often give you a hint but it is absolutely normal to expect that trouble could come along at any time. This is why some people see accidents as a part of one’s existence and they are meant to be tackled rightly with a strong resolve to march forwards in the quest to achieve our aim of living life to the fullest in all of its purpose and significance. It is quite helpful to remember that the day we begin to lose our will to live is the day we gradually begin to die, as death often is a gradual process which sets in even before the victim finally makes the transition to the great beyond. The main lesson in all of these is that one cannot afford to go through life without well thought out strategic planning even with necessary landmarks for progress measurements and effective appraisal.
