This is the problem of so many people. We have the problem of getting our eyes focused at where we are going or what we are trying to do? It didn’t really start with our present dispensation; it started with so many dispensations before ours. Take Brother Peter for instance, he was honourably called by the master to step into the sea and come over to where He was. He courageously started the journey, one step at a time. Immediately, I believe, his little sense reminded him he wasn’t walking on a strong platform and I imagined, he removed his eyes from where he was going and looked down to verify if actually, Paul the great rock is walking on the water and that was when he started sinking. Thank God he called out for help on time; he would have been another Jonah in the belly of fish.
Things that can make one loose focus are as follows:
- Cares and worries of this life
- Obstacles and hindrances
- Fear of failure
- Trying to please others
- Moving with negative people
Now, let’s read down to discover those things that make us loose focus and fight them before they swallow us.
Do you know that so many things are distracting us today, causing us not to focus on our destination? So many have been distracted by the cares and worries of this life, to the extent that they forgot there is a better place they have been called to acquire. That shouldn’t be. Don’t let anything distract you from the great race because eventually, those things that stand to distract us will definitely give way one day.
Do you know the richest place in the world today? Don’t be mute, just guess. I don’t know what you guessed but my own answer is burial ground. Are you surprised? Don’t be. If you are in doubt, just go down the memory lane of some people you know that are now late and see if you can’t count quite a number of those that died without utilizing their talents. All those talents are now buried with them. Some were as a result of obstacles and hindrances that came their way and distracted them when they were still alive and they failed to overcome those things.
Let us take it upon ourselves to fight what fights our dreams. Do you know that some people were born to be rich but because they are afraid of taking steps that will launch them into that greatness, they remained poor? Devil distracted them with fear.
So many are held down with “what will they say syndrome”. This category of people has some good thoughts in heart but because they don’t want people to label them negatively, they decided to stay put in one position. I want to assure you that it is not possible to please everybody, so if you are still being bound by this syndrome, liberate yourself and be free. Once the step you want to take is good before God, go ahead and take it and don’t be troubled, no matter what is going on around you as far as God gives you peace concerning that issue.
Mind also the people you share your dreams and plans with because they can be used to distract you. In whatever you are doing, just be focused on that place where you want to get to and don’t let anything distract you until you get to that very place in life. Don’t be discouraged when you fall, that doesn’t mean your end has come, rather it means, you have no power of your own. So simply get up, dust your clothe and continue until you get to the last stage.
