What makes you afraid of being black?
To the ladies ‘black is beautiful’ while to men ‘black and proud’ is a common saying.
I believe that being an African does not necessarily make you a black person, because it deals with both the physical and internal attributes.
Black is more than a colour, it’s like an expression or better still a way of life.
To me black is uniqueness and its marvelling to see most people around “peel” their skin so as to look like the white folks who are actually jealous of the black race.
Those who actually believe the phrase ‘black is beautiful’ and ‘black and proud’ are limited. In the guise of bleaching the skin, the perpetrators deceive themselves by calling it either ‘polishing’ or ‘toning’ the skin
Changing the colour of your skin apart from been physically and morally wrong, spiritually its like telling God you are not satisfied with his handwork.
Once you start bleaching the skin, it starts loosing texture and just pray not to be injured in any way or be involved in an accident since its common knowledge the skin will take longer time to heal.
Most bleaching cream if not all contain chlorine which is poisonous and can cause damage to the mucous lining of the lungs, so I don’t know why people derive joy from destroying themselves.
Finally, it is mostly believed that the black skin can easily acclimatize to weather better compared to the white ones because of its thicker texture. So it is ludicrous seeing people change from uniqueness to mediocrity, from been black and beautiful to having a multi coloured skin.
Instead of been abashed, one is supposed to be elated and grateful for being black. Black and proud, black is beautiful, black is uniqueness simple.
