(#1431180235) The continent Africa have come a very long way and historians believe here is where Man Originated aside from biblical beliefs. Majority of the continent is populated by Blacks which are predominantly based in the area called the Sub-Saharan part of Africa. Africa compared to other continents on the earth, is the most ravaged and plundered by the White Man. Slavery played a major and possibly the most important role in reversing the history of the planet earth and the area mostly affected by this malaise is the Sub-Saharan part of Africa. And taking a cursory look at this particular area, most of them will be celebrating various types anniversaries of independence from the white man. A long time ago the White Man left the land for the Black Man to manage his resources and then use it for the good and betterment of his motherland. I will be narrowing my post to a certain country found in the western part of Africa and is apparently and absolutely the most populated Black country in the World if there is any other place where a Negro Country can be located except in Africa. The most populated black nation in the World will be celebrating her 50th independence anniversary come October 1st 2010. A country that prides itself as the “GIANT OF AFRICA”. We the masses in this well endowed country so blessed by God with some much resources both human, weather and minerals have a different opinion on the so called and self-acclaimed “GIANT OF AFRICA”. The British left the shores of this country and handed over the leadership to the sons of the soil to govern and govern for the good of the country and her people. On October 1st, it will be exactly 50 years since then and when we the masses( except the so-called Leaders) look back at the history of this beautiful country since the British left, we are left with nothing but anger, pain, frustration, despair you name it at the improper, illicit and careless way the leaders who have been so blessed and fortunate to assume the heir of affairs of this wonderfully blessed country have maimed, plundered and destroyed this country and are still siphoning the remaining blood out of the country for their arrogantly selfish means. If you are a resident of this country, you will discover that we do not have natural disasters such as Tornadoes, Hurricanes, Earthquakes and Tsunamis as it is predominant and rampant in other countries that we kneel down and implore for assistance for. You will begin to wonder, what is there to celebrate for? What is their to be joyful about? What is there to put on smiles for when there are no basic amenities for the ordinary man that walk the streets in search of food and water, the most important things in life. There are no good roads( no roads at all), no power, no security, no health insurance, the education system is at an alarming state, a very low standard of living, no basic amenities and I mean the basic of all basics. Then you talk of the youths in this country who are being left out of the growth and development of our country. We are one of the largest producers of crude in the World, we produce Natural Gas at a very reliable rate, we also have large reserves of Bitumen and Coal, we have a very decent weather in this country and also we have of which I term the most important, immense human resources. This country have been ravaged by successive but destructive military rule since its inception. This is the major reason of such alarming decay of the country due to recklessness and the carelessness of the then Heads of State. They were corrupt, destructive, embezzlers and looters and they did all these with ridiculous impunity leaving the country and the ordinary man on the streets to bear the brunt of the disastrous leadership that have caused this wonderfully blessed country a place in the history of Man in Africa. We are way behind and there are much to say, lament and cry about for this country that have so much but receives less or no better treatment from the elected leaders. On the 29th of May 1999, a democratically elected government was sworn in to remedy the ills and pains of what the then military rule has exploded on the masses of this country. There was immense hope then back in 1999 when they were sworn in. We were really tired of dictatorial rule in the military that destroyed the constitution this beautiful country was founded on and such destruction was aided and is still aided by tribalism, favouritism and nepotism. We fought a civil war in the 1960s and it still looks like we are still fighting the war. A country with so much resources to enable uninterrupted power for the citizens have not been able to satisfy all promises made. We live in harsh and dire times here and if care is not taking we may end up being like Somalia. There are so much to talk about and I reserve for another day. Now you wonder what is all the celebrations for? We should put on sack clothes and weep for the decadence in all facets of the country imposed and bestowed on us by our corrupt leaders who you still find our largely deprived youths still worshiping them. Imagine a country where a senators earns more than the President of the United States of America. Senators who means no good for the constituency that voted them in. Senators that care less for the people in their neighbourhood. It is a long road for we the ordinary ones. They say the beautiful ones are not yet born but there is a good question that I want to ask? When will they be born and what happens if they are not born? Food for thought! (#1431180235)
