God ordained marriage; God made for man an appropriate woman, a helper fit for him, indeed the right woman. They were both naked and were not ashamed, i.e. nothing to hide from each other; they were sincere, honest to one another.
Immediately they gave into the deceit of the devil by eating of the forbidden fruit, the glory of God departed, and they saw that they were naked, they tried to cover their nakedness; at this point, there was no more trust in marriage. One person was hiding something from the other; there was sin in marriage, no more God in marriage. Man had to hide from the presence of God. At this stage, the rest of God left the marriage and struggle began.
