SHOULD COUPLES AID THEIR SEXUAL URGE WITH PORNOGRAPHY OR EROTICALS?

It is often argued that while it might not be morally right to read or watch pornographic or erotic materials, there is nothing wrong if couples especially the married ones make use of them. There is no doubt about the fact that the above stated materials stimulate sexual urge in their viewers. And so a man or woman who does not, or no longer feels sexually aroused when he or she is with partner, or who is so used to eating one particular soup “Egusi” or “Okro” soup; and this has resulted to sex no longer being an exciting thing has to resort to pornographic material to sexually high. While there might nothing wrong with subscribing to such materials, what one should be border about is what this materials makes of one. What do pornographic materials make of you? Somebody once said: “it is not the experiences that we past through in life that counts it is what we become as a result of those experiences” may be the title of this text should have been, “What does watching of pornographic or erotic materials make of us?” indeed what do you become as a result of a constant viewing of pornography?

One of the highly celebrated females in the entertainment industry in United States reveals on why she turned down marriage offer by her former     boy friend “there is nothing wrong with him. He is nice but I refuse marriage to him because he was given to watching strippers. There is something unhealthy about someone that watches strippers.

Couples actually read a lot of materials about sex to get more informed about sex and their sexuality that is different from pornography. When man or woman now constantly enjoy pornographic materials then something is wrong with them. A group Pastors were once asked what qualities thy want in there women? They all kept mute, probably thinking the question unholy. The Pastor that raise the issue surprised them by saying “the kind woman I will get married to is the type that the mere sight of her at a distance keep me aroused”. Another confessed: “the first time I met my wife her figure gave me a jolt, that was twenty years ago. The sight of her still gives me a jolt”

These people didn’t use any pornographic materials to arouse nor stimulate their sexual urge, in fact no sexually healthy person does.
