Have you ever said or done things people consider being anti-social? You are not alone as everyone has done that one time or the other, and here is an opportunity to know about some ahead so that you would be able to avoid committing another blunder while among people next time.
Interrupting
This is the number one social blunder people make as it shows the interrupter truly has no interest in hearing what the other person has to say; even if you are not, try to do one thing – listen. Interrupting the speaker is a rude thing to do, just place yourself in their shoes and feel how they would feel.
Talking from your seat
Can you remember sitting at a restaurant and a friendly acquaintance approached you for the standard greeting, and like a proud emperor on his throne; you remain seated while the steward-like acquaintance asks about the family and business. One word for this social blunder – it’s insulting and should be avoided at all times. Just stand from your seat, shake his hand and ask after the family and biz as well.
Checking your phone
Because you believe the phone is an extension of you doesn’t mean you should keep checking your phone all the time during conversations with people. Please don’t allow this conversation etiquette overrule you regardless of how the important you feel the text message or email might, remember it’s a social blunder and do the right thing.
These are some of the social blunders, you know the rest; please avoid them.
