The Hidden Curriculum: habits pupils and students learnt from their teachers.

Have you ever wondered the sudden change in the way your child do things? You wonder where he or she learnt that from. Don’t look too further; it may be from his or her teacher.
1. LATENESS: your child is no longer conscious of time, may be his teacher comes late to class.
2. GIVING EXCUSE: there is always an excuse for not doing what he or she ought to do. The same way the teachers cover up for not coming to class.
3. BECOMING BOSSY: he or she suddenly bosses his junior ones around. Everyone must be quiet while he speaks, no whisper, no objections. Isn’t that what teachers do?
4. PHONICS OR LANGUAGE: she’s suddenly sounding different, there is change in accent you noticed but you paid for it. How? The oral English or diction teacher is probably working extra hard
5. ATTITUDE: she sees the teacher more than she sees you, and she is being influenced by her attitude.
These are the hidden curriculum; they are not taught but learnt through a process called socialization. What socialization? That a topic for another day…….. Wt Love LEO
