System security (system protection) can not be overemphasized when it come the need for good computer speed (computer performance) is vital. System security (System protection) can be of various forms but I will focus on operating system security and application software security.
Since almost all system security threats come from outside the system, you should ask yourself and answer the following questions before accessing or given access to the system:
Is it from a trustworthy source?
Do I have protection system that is capable of handling the threat?
Is my Protection system up-to-date?
Do I rely need this stuff?
What is its side effect on the system?
Can I stand the cost of its side effect?
After answering those questions you go ahead and access it or allow it access to the system.I divide the system security and system protection into the following:
1.) Antivirus protection.
2.) Antispyware and anti-spam protection.
3.) Firewall protection.
Antivirus Arotection
An antivirus as system protection (system security) method protects the system from viruses and worms. The absent antivirus software makes the system vulnerable and unprotected. Norton and MacAfee antivirus is popular in the market. They are good and some how expensive. If you can afford it fine but I will at this point introduce you some good free antivirus software that when proper combined with the other protections will be very useful.
Avast antivirus personal edition is a good free antivirus software. This is for personal use only hence using it for commercial purposes is against the law. I use this antivirus on my PC. AVG free edition, Rising free edition, etc are there for you to choose from.
Antispyware and Anti-spam protection
Antispyware and anti-spam as system protection (system security) method protects the system from spy programs and spam respectively. They come with most commercial antivirus but in case you are using the free antivirus software additional software is need and guest what it is all free. PC Clean or Ccleaner is good for this purpose. Window defender from Microsoft is another good one and it is free, go get from Microsoft site.
Firewall Protection
Firewall is an application that protects the system from unauthorized access to it.
Windows and most commercial antivirus come with it. All you need do is to activate it on the system.
