Information and Communication Technology(ICT) has become a global concept of importance in all areas of human endeavour.It cut across education,health,governance,medicine,business,trade,productivity and others.Information Technology implies to such systems used in the manipulation,storage,interchange,transmission and reception of in formation.For instance,the provision of public information and services through E-government a system where government activities and services such as issuing of permits,tax payments,licenses can be done easily without the office-to-office protocol and process.This achievement can only but make public administration work, less tedious.However,there is the need for developing countries like Nigeria to tap into the diverse provision and opportunities of the ICT especially in such areas of individual creativeness,economic modernization and job provisions.This will go a long way in improving the standard of living and socio-development of the citizenry.Therefore the government,as well as the private sctor must break the bridge of under-development by investing in social infrastructural amenities such as reliable and affordable electricity,telecommunicatio,transportation,roads and water to mention but a few.Moreso,as the world continue to move towards an information-based society,through the efficient delivery of reliable information via the use of the internet,telephone and digital television. There is intended capital improvement in the economical and social development in the structure of any nation.In the reduction of povery,and the harnessing of human development through empowerment,these key areas must be addressed:AWARENESS-Is crucial because people must know the relevance of ICT in nation building.There must be ACCESS to ICT euipments,Affordability will break the barrier of the low level of computerization in most countries.Moreso,general education must be provided in terms of language.,more translators or trainers must be provided so as to carry everybody along in understanding ICT codes,commands and language.Conclusively,sufficient training is needed in the area of human resources and the interchange of new technologies.
