Accountant, cleaner accused of trespass

The Police in Abuja Tuesday arraigned a 33- year old Accountant and a 19 year old cleaner before an Abuja Magistrate’s Court for allegedly trespassing into A&G Insurance Company, Area 11, Abuja.

Momoh Rilwanu and Kelvina Joshiah were arraigned for criminal trespass, office breaking and attempt to commit offences contrary to Sections 348, 359 and 95 of the Penal Code.

Procesecutor Isiaka Rahemm told the court that on January 11, one Zainab Ali Egure of A&G Insurance, Abuja, reported to the Police that the accused person criminally trespassed and broke into an office in the company with intent to steal.

When the charges were read to the accused persons, they denied them and sought for bail, while the prosecutor asked the court for a date for hearing.

Magistrate Hadiza Shagari granted each of the two accused persons bail in the sum of N 100,000 with two sureties in like sums.

The magistrate also ruled that one of the sureties must be a civil servant and that all the sureties must reside within the court’s juris­diction.

The case was adjourned to Feb­ruary 8 for hearing.
