The complainant was said to have petitioned the police, alleging that his chef stole his wife’s jewelry between August 12 and 31.
Police prosecutor, Umoh Inah, a sergeant, told the court that the complainant and his family travelled abroad during the period and left the accused behind to take care of his house.

According to the Magistrate, the sureties must be resident within the court’s jurisdiction and swear to affidavit to produce the accused in court on the adjourned date.
