Man accused of throwing lady out of tricycle
A middle-aged man was yesterday arraigned before an Abuja Chief Magistrate’s Court for allegedly throwing off a lady, Janet John from a commercial tricycle as well as assaulting and causing grievous hurt to her.
Adamu Abdullahi of Gwagwa, Abuja was arraigned for criminal force, assault and causing grenious hurt, offences contrary to Sections 265 and 247 of the Penal Code.
Persecutor Simon Ibrahim told the court that on January 17th, one Janet reported at Utako Police State that while she was on board a commercial tricycle with the accused, who was also a passenger, the accused assaulted her and forcefully pushed her out of the tricycle while it was motion.
He said the complainant sustained serious injuries all over her body.
When the charges were read to the accused, he pleaded not guilty and requested for bail, which was not opposed by the prosecutor.
