THE Operations Manager of Eden Garden Park, Jonah Ogbodo, was yesterday arraigned before an Abuja Magistrate Court for allegedly assaulting Ogechi Ohalee, a reporter with Daily Trust newspaper, Abuja.
The accused was charged with the offence which contravenes Section 265 of the Penal Code.
Police prosecutor, Abdullahi Alhassan, told the court that on January 2, Ohalee reported to the police that on the same date, while she was at Eden Garden performing her lawful duties as a journalist at the scene of a fire outbreak in the place, the accused assaulted her.
When the charge was read to the accused, he pleaded not guilty and requested for bail, while the prosecutor did not object to the request.
Magistrate Omolola Oladipo granted the accused bail in the sum of N20,000 with a surety in like sum, who must reside within the court’s jurisdiction.
