Shoe repairer in court for sleeping with 10 year old girl
A 30-years-old man, Kondon Abdulsalam, of Balogun Compound, Offa Local Government Area, Kwara State, who was allegedly caught having sexual intercourse with a 10-year-old girl, has been remanded at the Federal Prison, Oke-Kura, Ilorin by an Ilorin Magistrate’s Court.
The accused who is a shoemaker was before he was arraigned on a one count charge of rape was said to have on November 10, 2010 forced the victim into his room where he subjected her to a round of sex before he was caught by neighbours.
Police arrested the accused following a complaint on November 12, 2010 at Owode Divisional Police Headquarters Offa by one Ayo Olabode of Alugure Compound, Ita Erin, Offa, that the accused raped her daughter.
Police First Information Report (FIR) on the matter stated that it was in the process of having carnal knowledge of the girl that the accused was caught and taken to the police station.
The FIR added that the accused committed the offence which contravenes Section 283 of Penal Code, law of the Federation of Nigeria. The case was adjourned till December 7, 2010 for further mention.
