Gunmen have kidnapped a prominent Bauchi  State Politician, Alhaji Shehu Umar few minutes after he has a Political meeting with the Bauchi State Governor, Isa Yuguda.

Fortunately for Umar, he was rescued hours later at Gidan Dubu, on the outskirts of the town following tip off from a family member who saw the politician kidnapped.

Narrating his ordeal to newsmen in Bauchi, a supporter of Governor Isa Yuguda, Umar said: “last Saturday night Governor Yuguda called me around 11pm and I went to his house, both of us alone discussed political issues, while we were discussing issues, while we were discussing someone called me with a strange number I refused to pick the call because I was with the governor and the person kept calling so I picked the call, he told me that his name was Daniyanu and that he wanted to see me”.

Umar  said further. “ told him that I was with the governor, that he should wait for me in my house but he insisted that he wanted to come and meet me, I dropped the call. We finished our discussions with the governor. I came out around I:30am and met them at the gate they were fighting with the security to allow them to enter.

“When I came out I drove straight to my house, they followed me and entered my house forcefully. They were seven in number. They asked why I influenced Bauchi delegates to vote for Atiku instead of Isa Yuguda.
