Alabaster is a name given to varieties of two distinct minerals which are Gypsum (hydrous sulfate of calcium) and Calcite (a carbonate of calcium). They are mainly used as containers.
Spikenard however, is an essential oil from Nardostachys jatamansi, native to Hymalayan Mountain, growing at an elevation of 11,000-17,000 feet. It was used in ancient times by kings, priests and high initiates in Egypt, Hebrew and Hindu civilization. It is used as sedative, to soothe anxiety, to nourish and regenerate the skin, in dandruff treatment, etc.
Therefore we can see that the spikenard (content) is more precious and more expensive than the alabaster (container).
In search of a life partner, many young people focus more on the container rather than the content. ‘Is she beautiful?’ ‘Is he handsome and rich?’ but what about the person in the casing? What are his/her values, passions? How can he/she be of help to your destiny?
