Improve Your Capacity

A man’s capacity is his ability to hold, do and contain. Your capacity reveals how much you can carry. The limitation of every vessel is in its capacity. For instance, a lizard does not have the capacity to think and invent things like a man; a 35cl bottle can never hold 50L of liquid. Therefore, one cannot be productive beyond his capacity. You can never shine more than the light you have inside of you. You cannot be whatever you are not and you will never be able to lead more than you have gone. In fact, God’s blessing to your life depends on your capacity to receive. God is not a waster of resources. He makes maximum utility of all His resources. You will recall that Jesus commanded the disciples to gather the left-overs after feeding the multitude  lest anything be wasted.

The Holy book also buttresses this truth. Immediately the last bottle was filled, the flow of oil stopped. The divine provision of wine at the marriage in Cana of Galilee was also dependent upon the principle of capacity. If there were more jars present, there would have been more wine produced. Comparatively, the flow of the goodies of life to us is proportional to our capacities. This is the reason why capacity is crucial to success and fulfilment in life. Capacity determines our weight and height. A man’s spiritual, mental, emotional, relational, leadership and communicational capacities will largely determine the magnitude of his success.

Happily, the human capacity is not a stagnant thing unless one chooses to make it so. In humans, capacity could be acquired, honed and improved for more effectiveness. Therefore, as a man aspiring to greater heights, you must not remain the same. You must always weigh your capacities on the scale so as to discover if you are growing or slowing. This is because it takes a growing man to have a growing vision. If you remain at the same level while your vision grows, a stage will be attained where your vision will nosedive until it falls back to your capacity. So, you must be dynamic in prayer, aggressive in learning and clean in lifestyle. Attend seminars; pursue growth everyday and move with positive people.
