FOOTBALL:TELLING THE STORIES OF LIFE SERIES : Service to Humanity and Self-Denial

Life is a land where tag-teams thrive, but what is key is service especially with a huge spice of self-denial more so service to humanity.its quite amazing how life pictures a definition in the things men refer to as commonplace. This is the very point where footballs moves from being just a game to a phenomenon that tells the meaningful stories of life. Some watch the game of football just for the fun of it while not taking to heart the things that happen in and around the game; but another set go beyond watching, learning key lessons from various analysis of things happening in and around the game in the process.

Allegiance does matter a lot,as it helps to uphold our principles, values and ethics especially for those who consider their word as bond, and try to be honorable in all things as much as is possible.this throws up service to humanity as against personal benefits meaning that self denial is a necessity,if it is to remain true service.A great story that exhibits the points laid out above is the story of the British Broadcasting Corporation(BBC) and the England 2018 world cup bid.The BBC world service has a sworn commitment to seek out the truth and serve it purely to the world audience devoid of prejudice, organizational views, and without any government influence whatsoever, not even that of the British government. In the whole drama that ensued after the World football federation (FIFA) bribery scandal, leading up to the declaration of those hosting the 2018 and 2022 world cup festivals. The British government felt its bid had already been hurt by a story which the London times uncovered which led to FIFA punishing two of its own men; and against this backdrop they sought to stop the BBC from airing a program tagged ‘Panorama’,one that had followed the news lead and uncovered further incriminating evidence about high level corruption involving FIFA and some of its continental associates.

Furthermore, The dilemma now happened to be,should the BBC air the program with four days to go to final announcements on the bid, knowing that news is only news while it is still relevant, or should they have to defer the program in a succumbing move to the British government’s plea that it was going to inflict much hurt on their bid;while all of this happened, one must not forget that the BBC stood to gain a lot if the British government won the bid.The BBC chose the honorable path, aired the program for the world consumption, some say it was the main reason why the British government lost the bid to Russia, but i believe that was only an assertion as no one could go on to substantiate the point, but all in all it does portray that you may get hurt in the process of serving humanity the right way but life is about sacrifices and self-denial is most honorable in these circumstances.

Conclusively, The story of the spartan boy who kept up in the face of real pain in that commonly told legend, losing his life in the process but dying for honor .it also does teach of a soldier learning to die at his post. This mindset speaks of having to deny ourselves certain luxuries and necessities in the course of true service as it does not often come as an easy pie with so much nicety involved. Most of all,the lessons of life are learnt through some of the things we refer to as common place,so the next time you follow the game of football and the things happening around it,pick up a lesson as there would always be something to learn at most points.
