SPANISH LA LIGA 2010/2011 PREVIEW

The Spanish La Liga is starting on Saturday and question is already being asked in fifa.com, who will win La Liga? The race  for the 2009/2010 title race went to the wire, which was eventually won  by Barcelona FC with 99 points and Real Madrid finishing 2nd with 96 points. Will the coming season follow the same pattern? Despite the amount of money spent on players last season by Madrid to bring in,  Kaka, Ronaldo, Benzema and host of others, they still suffered in the hands of their arch rival Barcelona. Madrid again have added to their already star studded side, Angela Di Maria, Mesut Ozil and Sami Khedira, while Barcelona in their modest way added Andriano and David Villa, but are still in negotiation to bring in Javier Mascherano. While the Barcelona manager in person of Pep Guardiola has extended his contract, which is continuity in a way, Real Madrid, brought in the acclaimed special one Jose Mourinho. Mourinho already stated that it will take his team time to gel, but he has always said that and things turned out in his favour, but the way Barcelona overturned the 3-1 deficit against Sevilla to win the Spanish super cup 4-0, suggested that it will take a great deal of work for any team to uncrown them as the “King” of La Liga come the end of 2010/2011 season. I do not see the likes of Sevilla, Valencia, Villarreal breaking the resolve of the last season’s champion. Madrid may try, but may go to the last day again for Barca to be crowned again.
