Abia governor’s many troubles

The governor of Abia Chief T.A Orji is a troubled man in deed. His troubles are multidimensional. At the moment the entire country is focusing attention on his state for various reasons amongst which are the spate of kidnappings and decampments from his former party, the People Progressive Party, PPA.
Apart from these troubles the governor is now facing inquires from the Economic and Financial Crime Commission, EFCC, who are investigating an allegation of misapplication of N10 billion loan collected from Bank PHB.
The loan was said to be meant for the settlement of salaries of civil servants especially teachers who has not been paid since March 2010 but was diverted to private pockets. The petition for the investigation of ten billion naira bank PHB loan written by a nongovernmental organization Action for community transformation (ACT) and forwarded to both EFCC and ICPC is currently causing ripples in the state.
One of the arrow heads of the organization (ACT) Nkumogu O.K Mbila said the governor had enriched himself from the state government treasury more than any other governor Nigeria has ever known that the he used the money to settle his godfathers and the State Assembly and should be probed for that.
He attributed the lack of economic, social and security in the state to the wanton looting of its treasury by the governor and his aides and that the EFCC should wade in to save the state from further stealing as according to him there is plan by the governor to buy the state house of Assembly into joining his new party APGA with him saying this will further impoverish the state.
