The Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO) Ben Agweugbulam in a statement said the hoodlums were disorganized by men of the Rumupakni Police division who chased them into the NTA Road, adding that one Nissan Primera car suspected to have been used by the hoodlums was recovered.
A similar incident took place hours away else where in Port Harcourt yesterday when gunmen suspected to be armed robbers engaged the police from the Borokiri division at Okarki Street in a gun battle.
The PPRO said it the support of the state anti-robbery squad, the metro patrol team to force the robbers to flee. He said investigation was on track down the hoodlums.
