Pastor halts wedding over pregnancy
GUESTS who turned out to witness a wedding at Bible Believers Centre Nyanya were astonished penultimate Saturday when the pastor cancelled the ceremony due to the result of a pregnancy test that declared the bride pregnant.
The couple (names withheld), who had sent out invitations months before the D-day were shocked when the minister of the church, Pastor Mfonido Edidaha ordered the bride-to-be to go for a pregnancy test a few days before their wedding.
“Immediately the test result was submitted to the pastor a day to the wedding, he informed the couple to cancel the wedding as it was against the Bible’s doctrine,” a church member said.
Commenting on the issue, the church’s Pastor, Edidaha, said the wedding was cancelled in order to fulfill all righteousness as marrying the couple after discovering the bride pregnant would have amounted to a sin.
He said the couple, who were married traditionally are presently being disciplined for their sins, while the church will consider joining them after they have served their punishment.
