SEXUAL HARASSMENT IN SCHOOLS WHO TO BLAME

A lady enters a lecture hall wearing a mini skirt say correctly a tiny piece covering her waist only about 5 inches down. The lady is pretty, a sight to behold with a smooth, shape-up long legs. She wore a blouse called mono strap and there was a slit down the front of the blouse that shows her cleavage. About two third of her stomach was bared. In short one will be transfixed. The first thought that came to one’s mind was how a lady can dress like this and expected not to be harassed by men.
But there should be no justification for sexual harassment even if all the ladies decided to go naked. Some men are just pervert, looking for a way to satisfy there sexual urges. They are sick and need medical attention.
How can one explain a situation where a secondary school student is raped by her mates? Is the school uniform she wore sexy or revealing? Or what explanations can be given for a 60 years old man that raped a girl of 8 coming from school or worst still a Muslim lady in Hijab raped on her way home? Does the Hijab show her curves, cleavage or whatsoever excuses people might give? Researches have shown that most girls raped are from good homes and were raped by people they know irrespective of what they wear.
We need to address the issue rightly and purge our society of these psychos instead of protecting them and exposing the victims to more humiliation and further assault.

Honestly there is no justification for all these sexual harassment. It is happening not only in school settings. It is happening in homes to innocent children as well as older ones.It is time for all stake holders, families, communities, government authorities to be more proactive in dealing with the issues of sexual abuse where ever it is committed. The victims should recieve all the help and support they need. And the perpetrators should be given what I call therapeutic punishment. Corrective discipline with the hope that they would change. If they have not become reprobates.People who have lost their humanity.Education on how to avoid sexual harassment should start in early life, and all schools should be mandated to employ social workers who will help young people cope with possible threats of sexual harassment.
