‘Job Interviews’ (Part 4): The Little Things You Can Avoid During An Interview.

Although we cannot always get everything right, yet, it pays in no small way to look at your interview day as a very important day. This way, you will be motivated to put in the best you can towards making it a success.

No matter how many interviews you have attended or ones you have been called for, try letting each interview seem like a fresh opportunity that will open doors, and you will scale through the process very easily and confidently.

Now that you are ready for the interview itself, the final episode in the ‘job interview’ series talks about interview dos and don’ts, take a moment and consider most of the following things to avoid during the process:
• Poor personal appearance

• Lack of interest and enthusiasm (excitement)

• Over-emphasis on money

• Criticism of past employer

• Poor eye contact with the interviewer

• Late to interview

• Not saying ‘thank you’ nicely after the interviewer has said you may leave

• Unwillingness to relocate

• Very long or unclear answers to questions

• Overbearing, aggressive, or having a ‘know-it-all’ complex

• Poor voice, poor diction, poor grammar

• Lack of confidence and poise, nervous, ill at ease

• Expecting too much too soon

• Making excuses or being evasive on unfavourable factors on record

• Lack of tact

• Lack of courtesy

• Lack of vitality

• Lack of maturity

• Bad C.V or Application letter

• Having or showing no interest in the company or industry

• Intolerant

• Lack of planning for career, or having no purpose or goals of your own.

Keeping this knowledge at the back of your mind, you are surely better prepared for the task at hand.
