54 years old Man accused of intimidation
A 58-year-old business man was last Thursday arraigned before an Abuja Magistrate Court for allegedly threatening to kill one Dansuwa Friday on September 20.
Benjamin Chibuzor Mbakwe of Plot 184 Lugbe layout, Abuja, was accused of committing an offence punishable under Section 397 of the Penal Code.
Police prosecutor, Paul Anigbo, informed the court that on September 28, the complainant reported to the police that the accused exchanged words with him over an electricity meter.
He said after speaking with each other, the accused threatened to kill the complainant with a gun.
When the one count charge was read to the accused, he denied it and sought for bail, while the prosecutor asked for a date for hearing, adding that he is not opposed to the accused person’s bail application.
Holding brief for Magistrate Idayat Akanni, Magistrate Hadiza Shagari granted the accused bail in the sum of N50, 000 and a who surety in like sum, who must be a civil servant within the court’s jurisdiction.
The case was adjourned to October 18 for hearing.
