Charged with receiving stolen property
The police have arraigned two men before an Abuja Magistrate Court for allegedly receiving stolen granite tiles from a security guard who stole them from a site.
Usman Adajnu and Suleiman Dauda, both of Jabi Motor Park, Abuja, were reported to have connived to buy 360 pieces of stolen tiles on October 2nd.
The prosecutor, Ibrahim simon, a sergeant, told the court that on October 2, the accused persons were found with 360 pieces of granite tiles.
“the accused persons were found in possession of 360 granite tiles, items belonging to one Okobuke Omolara of Plot 98, Mike Akhigbe Way, Utako, Abuja” the prosecutor said.
He said during Police investigations, the accused confessed to have bought the tiles from a security guard at a site located at Plot 98, Mike Ahkigbe way, Utako.
The accused persons denied the allegations and requested for bail, a request that was granted by Magistrate ann Akobi in the sum of N50,000 with a reliable surety in like sum each.
She also ruled that the surety must be resident within the court’s jurisdiction and have a means of livelihood as well as swear to an affidavit to produce the accused in court on the adjourned date
