Driver arraigned for disobeying traffic signs
An Abuja Magistrate Court has sentenced a 30-year-old driver to six months’ imprisonment for causing obstruction, dangerous driving and disobeying traffic signs.

Qdunewu Olayemi  of Arab area, Mpape, Abuja, was reportedly caught committing the offences along Aguiyi Ironsi Street, Maitama, Abuja, on October 19.

The prosecutor, Abu Okpanachi, a sergeant, had earlier informed the court that on October 19, the accused was arrested and brought to the Area Commander’s Metro station by the station’s Area Commander, Sunday Odukoya, an assistant superintendent

“The accused drove in a dangerous manner, without having  regards for other road users and in the process obstructed the movement of other motorists along the road”, the prosecutor said.

In addition, the  prosecutor said the  accused was arrested after the area commander had severally and fruitlessly ordered him to stop.

The accused pleaded guilty and was sentenced  to six months jail terms  with a  fine  option of  N10,000.
