DRIVER CHARGED WITH THEFT
AN Abuja Area court on Monday arraigned a middle-aged driver for stealing items from one Philomena Idu of Mpape Village, Abuja.
The accused, Bashiru Salami, of Ajegule Road, Mpape Village, was accused of trespassing into Philomena’s shop at the same address and stealing her bag containing the items.
Prosecutor Musah Abdullahi informed the court that on October 16, 2010, Philomena reported at the Mpape police station that the accused trespassed into her shop and stole the said bag, containing wrist watch, necklace. Nokia phone valued N5, 500, recharged card worth N32, 260 and N32.000.
The accused pleaded not guilty when the charge was read to him and requested for bail while the
prosecutor asked for a date for hearing.
Judge Lawal Manir granted the accused bail in the sum of N20, 000 with one surety in like sum who must live in the court Jurisdiction with a fixed address.
