House helps charged for stealing
TWO house helps, Moses Bodirenon and Joe Moses, were last Wednesday arraigned before an Abuja Magistrate Court for allegedly stealing money from one Abdulsamad Dasuki.
The accused persons, who reside at Gwagwa and Mararaba in Nasarawa State respectively, were arraigned on a four- count charged of joint act, forgery, theft and breach of trust, offences punishable under Sections 79, 364, 288 and 312 of the Penal Code.
Prosecutor Yusuf Auta, an assistant superintendent, informed the court that on November 11, Abdulsamad petitioned the Assistant Inspector- General of Police, Zone 7 Police Headquarters, that between July and November, the accused persons conspired with one Umoh Michael and Desmond now at large to allegedly steal his Bank PHB cheque leaflets.
The prosecutor said the accused persons forged Abdulsamad’s signature and withdrew N550, 000 from his account, adding that the accused also entered his bedroom and stole $90,000 from his brief case.
When the charges was read to the accused persons, they denied the charges and requested for bail, while the prosecutor asked for a date to enable the police produce witnesses in court.
Magistrate Okeagu Azubike granted the accused persons bail in the sum of N200, 000 each with two sureties each in like sums.
The case was adjourned to December 16th for hearing.
