Man jailed for stealing car batteries
AN Abuja Magistrate Court yesterday jailed Kingsley Bernard of Karimo village for two weeks for stealing three car batteries at Ekeson Plaza, Abuja.
The accused was convicted on a one count offence of theft, an offence contrary to Section 288 of the Penal Code.
Prosecutor Simeon Ibrahim informed the court that on November 25, the accused was arrested by one police Inspector Godwin Okore with three motor batteries around 8pm at Ekeson Plaza,Abuja.
When the charge was read to the accused, he pleaded guilty and Magistrate Aminu M. Abdullahi sentenced him to two weeks imprisonment and to also pay N3,000 fine as a deterrent to the others with similar acts.
