Man charged for receiving stolen Property
A middle-aged man, Nnamdi Nnaim, of Lugbe village, was yesterday arraigned before an Abuja Magistrate Court for allegedly receiving stolen property from one Kingsley Bernard, contrary to Section 317 of the Penal Code.
Police Prosecutor, Simeon Ibrahim, told the court that on November 25, one Inspector Godwin Okore attached to ‘B’ UPS Police Command, Abuja, arrested one Kingsley Bernard with three motor batteries suspected to have been stolen.
He further told the court that during police investigation, the accused person confessed to be taking the batteries to one Nnamdi.
When the one count charge was read to the accused, he pleaded not guilty and requested for bail, which was not objected to by the prosecutor.
Magistrate Oyebiola O. Oyewumi granted the accused person bail in the sum of N150, 000 with two sureties in like sums, who must reside within the court’s jurisdiction.
The case was adjourned to December 15 for hearing.
