Man charged with trespass, mischief
An Abuja magistrate court Wednesday arraigned a middle aged-man for allegedly injuring one Ayodele Akinjokin
The accused, Chineye Umedi of opposite Gbazago police station was a three count charge of trespass, mischief and causing grievous hurt, offences punishable under sections 348,327 and 343 of the Penal Code Law
The prosecutor, Adamu Abdullahi, informed the court that on June 9, one Ayodele petitioned the commissioner of Police FCT command, that sometime in November 2009; the accused broke into his apartment at No 17 Presidency road Kubwa and engaged him in a fight.
The prosecutor state further that the accused inflicted injury on the accused’s right leg and left hand in the process of fighting him.
The accused pleaded not guilty while his counsel applied for him to be release on bail on the ground that an accused is presumed innocent until proven guilty.
Magistrate Vera Tom Tukura granted the accused bail in the sum of N200,000 with two sureties in like sum.
